Course Overview
This course looks at public management and governance as instruments of social and political reform and organizational change. This is does by investigating reasons why and ways managerial ideas are promoted and applied in the public domain. It will enable delegates to understand the rise of managerialism in contemporary societies and to think critically about these reforms to public governance and management.
Delegates will also explore the subject of organizational theory and its practical application in public organizations, in particular issue relating to structure, culture and power within public organizations.
